Hand Print Pot Holders

Today I'm sharing a great little gift idea that Grandma's would love for the upcoming holiday season. We made these for Great Grandparents for Christmas and also grandma's on mothers day. My two had a blast making them I think it was because mommy was letting them get all messy :) Thank you Babble.com for this great idea.

For this craft I found everything at my local Dollar Tree. What you will need:

  • Paint
  • Pot holders
  • A paint pen if you want to add writing. (You might have to get this at a craft store I already had some from a previous craft.)
1.) Add paint to your little ones hand. Make sure you get a lot on there so you get a good hand print.
2.) Press the painted hand down on the pot holder. Hold for a couple seconds and make sure to push down on fingers to make sure you get all the paint onto the pot holder
3.) Once finished let dry then add writing if you wish. For our we just added their names.

Bye Bye Armpit Stains

I'm embarrass to say that this is my shirt

Happy Wednesday everyone!
Today's Pinterest tip comes from One good thing by Jillee. Do you hate how your white shirts get those nasty arm pit stains? I know I do. I think I have found a pin that might get rid of those nasty stains.

All you need is:
Peroxide
Dawn dish soap (plain blue kind)
Baking soda

In a bowl or spray bottle mix 1 part dawn with 2 part peroxide. Once mix pour or spray on your stains. Shake on some baking soda on top and rub in. Let sit for an hour so. Then wash normal.
Don't worry about your shirt turning blue it won't stain. When I saw this that was my biggest worry. But I was so happy to see nothing happened!

After the first wash I noticed there was still some stain so I decided to wash it again. The shirt I picked was stained for over a year so who knows how well it will come out. But this new trick now sits in a spray bottle in my laundry room so I can add some whenever I notice stains on my clothes. This might come in good hands having two small kids who love to get dirty! Best Pinterest tip so far.
After the first wash. Trying this again I have high hope it will work this time. This was only after 1 hour of soaking

I will keep you updated to see how the second wash goes because as I type this it is sitting with the solution on it.

Strawberries & Cream cocktail

Happy Friday!

We made it through another week now we can sit back and enjoy this yummy cocktail. Today's cocktail comes from a pin by Cake'n'knife. Thank you for this new recipe that will be added to my favorite weekend cocktails!

When you have Strawberries and cream in the name you can't go wrong. This is my favorite combination of flavors and always enjoy anything with them. Hope you enjoy this recipe as much as I do.

Strawberries & Cream Cocktail
Ingredients
  • 2 oz strawberry vodka
  • 1½ oz whipped vodka
  • 2 strawberries, thinly sliced (plus extra for garnish)
  • Soda water
Directions
  • In a shaker, add ice and both vodkas. Shake vigorously and set aside.

  • Muddle the sliced strawberries in the bottom of a glass. Fill the glass with ice and top with the vodka mixture. Stir gently to incorporate the muddled strawberries throughout and top with soda water
**it's up to you on how much soda water to add stronger flavor less of the soda. More of a weak vodka flavor more soda. I like my drinks on the weaker side it's all about you preference in taste.**

  1. Cheers!

DIY indoor ball game

Today's kids activity came just in time. We have been in the house alot for a couple of days due to rain. My kids have been going crazy!!! So I went on to find indoor activities on Pinterest. I had a bunch of toilet paper rolls so I wanted to find something to do with them.

Thank you Meaniful mama for this awesome game idea.
My 5 year old liked this game the most. She was coming up with new games using it. It's now part of game closet. My 2 year old was in love with chasing the balls around the living room.

What you will need:

  • Toliet paper rolls (we had 6)
  • Marbles or bouncing balls
  • A small piece of paper to help hold the tubes together. (We recycled a popcorn box you can use what ever)
  • Tape (of course the only tape I could find in my house was medical tape...hey it works!)

What to do:
1.) If you would like decorate the Toliet paper rolls before we start. We made the mistake of doing this after and it was hard.
2.) Place a tube on the paper. Place a piece tape on each end of the Toliet paper rolls. And repeat till you are finished.

3.) Now you are ready to play. You can play with points or by color. Your choice.

We would love to see your games on Instagram don't forget to share them!

Earn extra cash with Inbox Dollars

With Christmas right around the corner I know a lot of people are looking for new easy ways to find extra cash. For a year now I have been using the site Inbox Dollars. I know with a lot of online companies you always have the fear of it being a scam. I can proudly say it's not I even got my cousin hooked to the site. We each have been paid 2 times each so far. Here is the proof of my card that Inboxdollars sends the money on once redeemed.

With each email you read you earn 2 cents which isn't a lot but when you are keeping up with it daily they add up fast. The surveys varied from 20 cents to 50 cents and some times more just depends on the company and how long it is. If you coupon this is another site that has coupons that you earn 10 cents for every coupon you use (I use this more then anything). There are so many other things that the site has to earn money. A little time each day you will be earning that extra cash with out even working hard for it. When you sign up today you will receive a $5 Bonus!

I will be continuing to use this site to earn that extra cash for my family during the year just not on holidays. If you are that one looking for some extra cash check it out and also for another fun site to earn gift cards and stuff check out my post on the company Swagbucks.

Cleaning those nasty looking cookie sheets

Happy Wednesday!

Today's tip is one that you can find all over Pinterest feed. And it's Baking soda+ peroxide can clean your baking sheets...have you seen this one? After finding this pin from One good thing by Jillee awesome post and thought this would work for me.

But this pin was a FAIL for me...i'm guessing my cookie sheet is way gone for anything to help! Time to get a new one and start fresh. But this is an awesome pin to keep in mind so that when my new one starts getting dirty I can use this to clean it up.
I'm ashamed to say that these are mine :(

If you have a cookie sheet that still haves some "life" left in it this post is perfect for you.
All you need is 1/4 cup of baking soda and a couple of drops of peroxide to form a paste. Once you have a paste you can use your hands or a sponge and rub it all over your cookie sheet. I was noticing that with the sponge it was getting more of the grease and the build up off. Once done rinse off and wash your baking sheets.

Grape (Kool-aid) Playdough

This weeks activity for the kids is a fun one and it smells great. I still have many packets of Kool aid just floating around my kitchen and I really don't want my kids drinking that much so I have been searching Pinterest for some things I could do with the kids. A couple weeks ago I posted Kool Aid bubbles if you haven't checked it make sure to check it out that one was fun my 2 year old loved it. This activity came from The connection we share. Thank you for this great fun activity.

Before making this I always thought it takes awhile to make and it will be one giant mess. Boy was I wrong. I think the prep/cook time was only 10-15 minutes but that was with no kids helping. I tip toed into the kitchen without any one hearing me :) So it was a nice surprise when I told the kids lets go outside and play with Grape play dough. This was the softest play dough we have played with before and so much fun.

Here is how you can make your own Kool Aid playdough

What you will need:
1 1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup salt
1 pkg Kool Aid (any flavour/colour of your choice – we used grape)
1 cup boiling water
1 1/2 tbsp vegetable oil

Directions:
1.) In a bowl mix together the flour, salt and the Kool Aid

2.) Stir in the boiling water and oil and Mix really well. Kneed with hands for about 2 minutes till the flour is well blended.

3.) Have fun join your kids for some mommy and me time.
When finished store in a air tight container or Ziplock bags to keep it fresh and soft.

Tipsy Palmer

Friday is Here!!! It's been a long week in our household with potty training but the good news is he got it faster than I thought and he 100% potty trained! So this weeks cocktail is perfect timing for me!

This week we are adding twist to a summer favorite (unless your like my husband who loves them all year round) Arnold Palmers. Thank you Serious Eats for this great summer cocktail.

Now how do we make this you ask all you do is spike your Arnold Palmers with some bourbon (all to your taste). When I first saw bourbon I was a little scared to try it but OMG was it good in the tea. There is just something about the 50/50 that smooths it out to make it delicious!

Hope you guys enjoy
Cheers!

Mommy Time: Key Cover Craft

Are you tired of trying to find the right key with your hands full with the heavy groceries? Today I have a fun mommy time craft that can be done in two ways. The first way is with scrapbook paper and the second way is with Nail polish.

The first way came from a pin from Creme de la craft. I have found a new way to use up some scrapbook paper that I have just laying around. My husband says I have an addiction to paper when I go to Micheal's or Hobby Lobby I'm always buying more...I might have to agree with him don't tell him :) When I was making this way I won't lie it was kinda hard with my key to get it to cut right but I wasn't going to give up because it looked so cute and it has been on my want to do list for a long time. I made it work and I love the way it looks. You can cut paper for both sides or you can just do one. It's totally up to you on how you want your key to look. I only did one side.

What you need:

  • Small piece of paper
  • metal key
  • scissors
  • x-acto knife
  • mod podge
1.) Trace the top of your key on the backside of the paper. After you are done cut it out with the scissors and use the xacto knife to cut the inside detail. Place on key to make sure it fits if you need to trim it up to fit.

2.) On your key place mod podge and then add your cut out on the key. Press on it to make sure it is on and rub out any air bubbles that might be present.

3.)After your paper is on the key put a layer of mod podge on the paper to seal it. Don't worry the mod podge will dry clear.

4.) Let dry and repeat on other side if you wish.

The second way was a lot easier and this could be a fun thing to do with children when they get their first house key. Because while in one of our many trips to Home Depot my daughter is always dreaming of what character she wants to get but they are so expensive! I will be doing this with her instead. And there is a plus about this if you get tired of it just use nail polish remover and change the color! I wish I knew who blogged about this idea because its a great idea thank you whoever you are!

What you will need:
Key
Nail polish of your choice

All you do is paint a thin layer on the key. Once done let dry and repeat on the other side. Simple and cute!
The best part about glitter nail polish it doesn't leave glitter all over the place!
We would love to see your key covers share photos on Instagram!

Nail polish remover as a cleaner?

For this weeks tip I found another crazy tip that I had to try. With a five year old you give her new shoes within one day they are dirty and don't look like I just bought them. I don't know about you but this drives me CRAZY.  Thanks to this image pin I don't have to go crazy anymore which is a good thing, Because I have a 2 year old boy who is gonna go out and get dirty faster. This mommy is prepared bring it on!

All you need to do to make this Pinterest tip work is add Nail Polish remover to a cotton ball and wipe away the dirt on the rubber part of the shoe. To clean my daughters shoes it took a little elbow grease but I'm pretty sure the next time I do this which will be sooner it will be easier. This tip is TRUE you really can clean shoes with nail polish remover. This mommy will be using it more often. Thank you Pinterest!
This is just from one side of the shoe...gross!

Water gun Fun!!

Are you tired of being the target for your kids water guns? I was so I went out to Pinterest to find something that would change that. The idea that I found that was perfect came from Planet of the Apels. She threw a great looking carnival party that featured this game. If you are looking for some cute ideas for a carnival party check out her blog.

Because of this game it saved my kids water guns from finding the trash can! My kids fell in love with this game and is always pulling it out. I noticed them even using the Nerf guns to shoot at the balls. 2 games in 1 score! The best part it was simple to make and you might already have some of these things laying around your house. All you need is:

  • Small piece of wood
  • 4-6 golf tees
  • ping pong balls

Drill holes in the piece of wood big enough to fit the golf tees. Make sure the holes are spread far enough to fit a ping pong ball on the golf tee. And that's it you are ready to let the kids spray away at the balls and the best part you get to stay dry!

S'mores Trail mix

Today's recipe is one that my kids love making and its a quick easy afternoon snack. Thank you Mommy's Kitchen for the great recipe! There are two ways for making this recipe you can make a large batch or you can do small single servings which is the way we make ours. The only time I make the large batch is for family picnics. With the small servings everything stays fresher and taste better in my opinion.

S'mores Trail

Ingredients:

  • 1 15-16oz  golden grahams cereal
  • 1 16oz bag mini marshmallows
  • 1 12oz package chocolate chips
Single serve:
Put small handfuls of all ingredients into a bowl or bag and enjoy!

Large batch:
Empty all ingredients into a large bowl or bag and mix. Store in a air tight container

Hope you guys enjoy this recipe like we have in our family. For more recipes like this checkout the recipe tab above! And don't forget to check out my Pinterest page that also as more yummy recipes!

Mommy Frappé

Sorry I'm a day late on this one. But like they always say better late then never! Tonight is a good one. Who's a coffee lover? I can't go a day with out coffee and this recipe puts a fun twist to that cup of coffee. And that twist is whipped cream vodka...yummy!
When I was making this cocktail off Pinterest there was no directions :( so I was just guessing what to do. For no directions I have to say it turned out still pretty yummy.

Mommy Frappé:
  • Starbucks flavored coffee (I did Carmel)
  • 1-2 shots of whipped cream vodka (all depends on how strong I only did one shot in a 11 oz coffee and I could not taste it)
  • Ice

Pour everything into the blinder. Add ice to your preference and blend well. That's it simple!

If you are going for your favorite Starbucks drink it's easy. I Used to be an barista before becoming a mommy (love this job so much better!)
Carmel macchiato you will want a vanilla flavor coffee topped with carmel drizzle. For a stronger carmel flavor try carmel vodka instead of whip cream.
Mocha you will use plain coffee in the jar and add chocolate sauce.
