Quite Blocks

I have to say this has been the best pin for my 2 year old son. We have had them for about a month now and there's not a day he doesn't play with them! Best $3 activity I have found for little ones. They are perfect for that quite play time. So many options of what they can do with them. Gets their creativity going. Landon loves building towers more then anything and knocking them down.Another thing he likes to do is dump them out and play basketball with them to put them back into the basket.

A day after buying them I found another pin to add them to bath time. So that's what we did and the kids loved it. We called it Noodle Bubble Bath. It's always great to get 2 ideas out of one item.

All you need is a couple pool noodles. I got mine from the dollar tree, I bought 3 which is the perfect amount for us.Cut them up into different sizes. For this I found the kitchen Butcher knife worked the best. Quick and super easy.

We would love to see your noodle creations share pictures on Instagram

Walking Tacos

Happy Monday! Hope everyone had a great weekend.

This recipe is one that our family tried over the weekend. Walking tacos seems like it's everywhere on Pinterest. They would be perfect for a meal on the go, camping or just a fun dinner in with the family. And the best part it's Toddler approved! Usually when my kids hear tacos they freak out I don't know why they are crazy! So I tricked them by calling them nachos and then after they ate it I told them they had tacos! Call me a mean mommy but now my kids will eat tacos after trying this it's one less picky food they won't try!

For this simple fast dinner all you need is 10 Minutes at the most and:
  • Ground meat or ground turkey
  • Taco seasoning packet
  • Chips (whatever kind would taste good with taco meat)
  • Your favorite taco toppings (cheese, lettuce and etc.)

Directions:
1.) Brown the meat and add the seasoning just like making regular tacos.
2.) Open the bag of chips. Add the meat and toppings. For my little ones while we were at home I found it was easier to use a plate for them.
3.) And that's it your ready to enjoy your walking tacos!

Rum Root Beer Float

Happy Friday!!!

For this weeks cocktail it's perfect for the summer. Everyone loves root beer floats but this drink takes it to the next step. This recipe comes from Squidoo who has some other awesome great recipes using Rumchata that I keep seeing on Pinterest.

This drink was just like drinking a root beer made of ice cream. It was creamy and you didn't have to worry about getting a brain freeze that comes with many delicious floats. Definitely will be making these more often this summer.

The recipe is all up to your taste of how you want to make this drink. You can have a 1:1 ratio for a stronger drink or you can have 2 root beer 1 rum (which is what I did for my drink) it's all on your taste preference. Serve over ice and your ready to sip away on your adult version of root beer float

*With this recipe you want to make sure that you only use A&W root beer or Dad's because others may cause the Rumchata to curdle.

  • Root beer (A&W or Dad's)
  • Rumchata
Cheers!

June: Ab Challenge

Happy Thursday!!! It's the first whatever Thursday and I thought I would share the hot ABS challenge that is all over Pinterest right now. As a stay at home mom adding working out to my daily routine can be difficult. Not so much the finding time it's more of the keeping the focus to keep it up.While looking on Pinterest I find myself pinning a lot of workouts but I will be honest I have only tried a handful of them and then the motivation is gone.

I saw this challenge all over Pinterest and then I saw it in Facebook. It was like a sign you should do this.
I'm five days into it and loving it. By now I'm usually giving up on it but because it's easy I can fit it in at nap time and still get things done. As the challenge keeps going on I will keep everyone updated on my progress this will be my motivation to keep it going. And plus I have a bet with my Husband to see who can last the longest I have to win!
Sorry this picture is bad I hate showing off my stomach but for this challenge you have to show your results.

If you looking for a great quick ab workout this challenge it perfect.

DIY Mosquito Spray

Pinterest Tip #1 does Listerine really keep Mosquitoes away True or False?

Summer is here and that means bugs! I don't know about you but they drive me crazy. While looking for something to keep the mosquitoes away on Pinterest I came across many pins saying that Listerine works wonders. I was in luck I just received a sample bottle the day before so I went and grabbed it and spread it all around our patio. As I was spraying you could see the mosquitoes running away.

I sat outside on the patio for awhile to see if this really works. I have to say I was shocked. It didn't keep them away 100% but for the most part they were.

This is will be perfect for picnics, spraying around you at a game or swing sets or even when you are camping.

This tip is TRUE! The one nice thing that I like was the minty fresh smell no stinky chemicals.

All you need is a spray bottle and some Listerine and spray away.

I'm still looking for other tricks to keep them away. Next on the list is to try the Bounce dryer sheets I will update everyone when I give it a try.

Fried Cheerios

As a mom to a toddler we always have a box of cheerios in our house. Landon loves his cheerios so I thought I would switch things up and try something totally different for snack time.

I found this Fried Cheerios recipe on Big Girls Small Kitchen and it looked really simple and sounded really good. There was no second guessing if I would make this. I went into the kitchen and grabbed everything. It was a great snack for 2 people or 3 depending on how much everyone eats.

I've made this twice now. The second time I substitute garlic salt and it was yummy I think for now on I will be using it.

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons butter preferably salted
  • 1 cup Cheerios
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Pinch of salt if your butter isn't salted

  • In a small frying pan melt the butter over medium heat.
  • Add the cheerios and cook. Stirring to redistribute until they turn golden.
  • Add the oregano and cook for another minute.
  • Taste a cheerio and see if you need to add salt and add some if you like.
Serve and enjoy!

You can make these a head of time when storing them make sure they are cool and store at room temperature in a air tight container.

Chip bag shrinkies

This activity I did as a mommy time craft and surprised Ireland with them after nap. This is definitely a craft for older kids or as a mommy time craft.

I have to start off by saying that this activity at first was a major pinterest fail. The first pin that I found was from Mad About Science which said to use a 200 degree oven for 10 minutes.  Yeah nothing happened.
So after that I had to find another way to get this to work because I thought it would be perfect for my daughters dolls.
Fail #1 no shrinking and kept it in a little to long it started to melt.

After more searching I finally found something would help but of course they went to dead end websites. Once we got this to work it was easy and fun to watch. So here is what worked for me.

What you will need:
Cookie sheet
Chip bags with the foil on the inside

Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350
  • Wash and dry out chip bags. Make sure there are no chip crumbs .
  • Layout the chip bags out on a cookie sheet. Make sure they are not touching each other
  • Melt for 5 minutes
  • Pull out of oven and let cool. The bag will be gooey as it cools it hardens. If you need to you can trim the bag after it cools. Which is something I had to do to all my bags.

So you are probably wondering OK that's cool what can I do with it. I saw people punching holes in them making them into key chains or even necklaces. We decided to use them with Ireland's stuff animals and her American girl look alike doll which works perfect.

Would love to see your creations. Share your pictures on Instagram.
